New to the forum! Looking to buy 07 SR5 with 244k. Dealer said that check engine light is on and that’s due to the ECU being bad which was diagnosed by Toyota. He claims it runs fine despite that.

This will be my first 4runner so my knowledge is limited but the repair looks relatively easy based on YouTube videos. Despite it looking like an easy repair, what other affects could this have on the overall function of the car?
