A few days ago I sunk my 4runner in a lake ...

    I've drained the oil ,changed the filter.cleaned the plugs got a new air filter but she still won't start:( any information will be much appreciated thanks

    Also, how long ago was this? it takes awhile before electrical dries out - does the engine turn?

    Its a 86.the engine dose turn over...it happend 3 days ago

    I am not familiar with the first gens - check the wiring and distributor for any moisture?

    22RE or 22R? If it's a 22RE there are a lot of electrical connections that need to be checked. I would start disconnecting each connector one at a time and spraying electrical contact cleaner in them. Also your ECU could be fried. If you have a Haynes manual I would start looking at all of the starting and ECU starting wires. A flooded vehicle is always a headache working out all of the bugs.

    Not yet ...it fired for the first time yesterday...I still have to continue to disconnect all plugs and cleaning them up
