great pics. Where were the dirt road pics in the what looks like Arizona taken?

I appreciate the feedback. I love doing landscape photography and pictures of cars and such. It is such a blessing to have a 4Runner where I can take pictures of these magnificent views.

Very cool. Can you tell us more about your visit, such as how many days you were there, lodging, crowds, trails, etc. I’m planning on a trip there this year. Thx.

 

We were there for 4 days which is not enough. I have not memorized the name of the places we've been, so I will "circle back" with you on that after I clean the runner and do all my laundry ... meanwhile, I enjoyed making circles, while the kids made snow man ...

 

Haha, that’s great fun! Did you turn off TRAC, VSC and Trailer Sway Control in order to do that?

 

I turned off the one on the far left, I think it's traction control

That’s the one, to turn off TRAC. And as @ruiz4251 said if you press and hold it (for 3 seconds) it turns off VDC and trailer sway functions. You can get more donut action!

How was it? You have fun?

 

The ride down to Suagoro Lake was beautiful but the drive back was long. We found good campsites on side roads. I rode my mountain bike up to the peaks 3 times about 20 years ago. I was obviously studly. It was a long tough ride on a bike. Btw, we are doing box canyon near Florence Junction Sunday morning if you are interested.

 

I would but I might have to hit you up next weekend or something. My 4Runner is going into the shop on Monday for a re-gear and front/rear lockers. I just had fun removing my skid plates tonight with the nuts losing their welds.

My gosh, that's a gorgeous 4runner

 

Not mine, but these guys were stuck last week on Peavine Peak, north of Reno. Nice looking crew though.

 

My 5th gen did the same thing. Welded nuts for the skid plate lost their weld. Toyota fixed it under warranty, but they were baffled. "I've got my two most experienced mechanics looking at it, and we still can't figure out what happened." So I asked a dangerous questions, "Could it have been from a strong front-end impact? There was one time when I did hit a berm pretty hard." They said, "No, we don't think so."

 

Yeah I was blaming the company that installed my skid plates the entire time thinking they put the screws in there. Then once I got everything out I realized it wasn’t them it was Toyota who has the nuts in there. I think it was cheap welding and I didn’t have time for warranty so I went with my makeshift option. Now I don’t think that will ever happen again. I used anti-seize on every bolt.

I am glad Toyota took care of you though and you got it fixed under warranty.
