You have 2 options. You can buy the kit from SDHQ and it will save time, or you can cut. It isn’t hard to pull the piece out and cut on the bench. I wouldn’t do it while it is installed in the dash.

On the 2020 model I still had to pull out my dremel tool to cut away part of the dash (that is hidden) which prevented the SDHQ piece from fitting.
I also bought the battery accessories kit for the extra $100 or so dollars to make it easier to hook up my compressor and Winch. I will spare you all the pictures of the install as there are a lot of pictures online already. If you have any questions though I am happy to try and help.

Received the Tyger steps today....and was promptly informed by my Wife that she does not like the look of them at all. Sticking with the NFabs it is! *laughs*

I also received a set of Eibach rear coils. Not sure if I'll have them installed or not, though, 1'' lift in the rear with the coils and having the front at 1.5'' will look good, so I'm not concerned there, but, I'm not sure how it'll feel running the Eibach coils in the back while retaining the stock springs in the front.

By that logic - what if your wire’s insulation fails (rubs through as you said) between either fuse and the closer battery? Then you “have a fire” again. Then, the only rationale is to abandon wire altogether and just connect the batteries by chaining fuses. Lol

    What?

You just fuse each end at each battery terminal, using terminal mount fuses. If there was a short, it would pop both fuses and isolate both batteries from the short.

Please don’t do any wiring on your vehicle or other peoples vehicles. Put the fuses as close to each battery as possible. That protects the wire and both batteries. There is literally no way to dispute this, it’s fact. If you don’t understand how to properly wire something, that’s fine, but learn from those of us that do.

From the Q&A on Amazon: maybe this will help with your question.

    Question:
    Anyone know the internal dimensions?
    Answer:
Internal is 51.5 inches long, 14" across. Depth on the bottom is 3.25" and top depth is 1.75. There are cutouts for the wheel - see the product pic - inside and each is 2"x2" approx. I fit a scoped SKS and scoped Marlin 1894 Cowboy in there with 40 rounds of ammo for each. Hope this helps.

Lmao clearly the sarcasm of my last post flew right over your head. Your setup, as laid out, makes as much sense as daisy chaining fuses to provide optimal isolation as close to fault as possible.
If you’re trying to achieve what you’re claiming to trying to achieve - a post above by kbp10 is showing you a proper way to achieve it. Not by stringing a 4ft of wire to one fuse, followed by another 4ft of wire and then another fuse before another 4ft run to battery. Lol
As for “understanding how to properly wire something” - and learning from you - lol all of your load is still connected to the positive terminal of the primary battery... you circuit assembly set up is only effective in disconnecting the 2nd battery and that run of cable - in sections, too.
Next, wiring as you have done - two batteries in parallel - will cause them both to charge and discharge together. This, although virtually provides you a single battery with roughly double the capacity, can effect serious load on your alternator while recovering from a deep discharge (ie long night of camping) and also does not provide for any isolation of primary battery when the vehicle is not running. There is a reason why isolators, voltage monitors, and current regulators are invented for dual battery setups. Slamming extra batteries in parallel and putting double fuses to isolate them (and pieces of cable) is deff not the way to do it.
Later, when I have more time I will show you how your voltage reading on a battery is useless in knowing whether the battery is charging or not. From those of us who know “how to wire things up”, but also are career engineers/electricians lol

I would not take any advice from the poster of that Amazon answer, neither the SKS or the 1894 lever action rifle should ever have a scope mounted to them, yuck.

You will find that antenna is a poor choice for anything lower than 900 MHz, and the antenna placement below the roofline makes the antenna even less efficient. Study your Technician manual and look at antenna basics. The antenna needs to be 1/4 wave or longer and have an adequate ground plane for any kind of efficiency. For 2-Meter VHF that means an antenna of about 19".

It’s not my post or my setup. Having a 2 battery setup with a fuse as close to each battery protects the entire circuit, period, end of story.

End of story period after you were defending an improperly set up wiring and tried to smear me for calling it out - as if you were some sort of an expert ? LoL
Though, you’re not wrong in this last post - your prior ones left much inaccuracies within. End of story, period.

Lol right and actually I am an expert. Since my very first post, I stated a fuse as close to each battery protected the entire circuit. You claimed that was only true if wiring something into the cable between the two batteries which is false. You claimed a fuse at both batteries was pointless which is also false. Reality is, people doing things wrong makes me money when I fix it so have at it!

Look at the placement of those fuses - distance from the batteries. Then look at the fact that all of his load is connected to the positive terminal of the primary battery. For his current setup - one fuse would suffice. Having two fuses’s only benefit currently is the ability to disconnect a section of the cable and not just the second battery.

While we’re at it - and as promised. Here is my dual battery setup. Except, instead of a second battery I decided to use hammers. Their nonconductive handles are just as good as a battery, right? And here it is showing DC voltage so that clearly shows that “both of my cells are charging and doing things.”
