Same here, really. But I can see why it’s different for the west coast and some other areas. The dealers around here wouldn’t get away with that. Btw I don’t think you can go wrong with an ORP or pro. Both are really good at what they are supposed to do. I personally think the lunar rock on those black rims is going to absolutely pop when I have the full opti-coat plus ceramic done and I wasn’t willing to wait to see what color options were going to be available for ‘22. This thing is going to be pretty rare over here.

I have only seen three Lunar Rock vehicles so far in my travels. A Tacoma and Sequoia at two different dealerships (months ago), and a 4R on the interstate a couple of weeks ago. Which is surprising since I live in a high density area (MD suburbs of DC), and am a real estate appraiser out and about quite a bit. I was not a fan of the Lunar Rock when I first saw it on the Tacoma and then later on the Sequoia. However, the Lunar Rock 4R I saw on the interstate freakin popped and looked great! I liked the unique and contrasting colors! Not a fan of white, but the white looks good due to the white and black contrasts. The black Pro's are too black with no accents in my opinion. I am going to go with the MGM if I pull the trigger this year. My first choice would be cement if that was possible. The cement is only available with the Trail trim in the 4R this year. I am surprised that last year's Pro color Army Green is available in the Trail trim as well. Kind of diminishes the exclusive Pro color in my opinion. Clearly the ORP makes more sense financially, but the Pro looks great out of the box and there is a disincentive to modify which is just fine for me at this point of my life (59). A base SR5 would be fine actually, but I want to enjoy all of the comforts going forward! Not a Limited / Nightshade guy - I still fancy the active outdoors lifestyle. I was out skiing in Jackson Hole two weeks ago and there were SR5 4R's everywhere. Looked like the #1 rental vehicle in town.

Regarding the Pro colors are the options always White, Black, Magnetic Gray Metallic and the New flavor of the year?
When is the new Pro color typically revealed? September?

I think many trims have its own advantages.

I will start with your hated Limited / Nightshade.. LoL. I got my wife a Limited because she hated switching 2wd-4wd even with the rotatable selector on SR5. She almost lost control on a curve which had a icy patch. So no other trim in the 4Runner line up match that need of full time 4wd.

We use the TRD ORP for our trips and I as the passenger change 2wd - 4wd when needed when my wife drives.. LoL. She find it to be the worst 4wd selector. I love the offroad tech it has.

SR5 (7 seats) is probably the best value for money. Even though people hates its 3rd row seat I have put my office buddies to go for lunch outs and happy hour. Very nice to have for small drives. As for off-road that A-trac is pretty good and early days I wasn't able to get hang of it much but now with some experience I love it. And it doesn't cost much to get twin e-lockers. About $1500 each here in CO (I just got quotation for my TRD ORP front but didn't pull the trigger yet.)

TRD Pro? (Even though I'm not interested) It's a nice trim for someone to have a different color and a good suspension from the factory. One of my buddy leased a Pro which is pretty capable as stock.

Not hating on the Limited / Nightshade, just not my cup of tea aesthetically or functionally! The limited is probably the most popular 4R in my concrete jungle!

I'm right with you, the limited would be my last choice. It's the grocery getter for Karens lol
