I have to ask if you are referring to my post? I know the limit of the whole (factory) rack is 125#. Do you see an awning messing with something I don't see?
Likely put a pelican (or similar) case on the other side to keep even. Trash goes in the middle.
    Thanks,
    Ryan.

I'm liking the Jackery and 12v Frig approach more and more. Not sure my banking account feels the same way tho.

No sir. Not at all. I like the idea and will likely use them myself.

The link and why? It's the simple fact of having listened to both of those guys step up admit their mistake of not knowing what perhaps they should have known in an effort to prevent it from happening to others. Commendable at minimum.

In the end this set up suited my wants/needs the best. Added to that - 1ea / 100w solar panel, Jackery's automotive jumper cable kit and an Onite camp light(nice light for 4R or tent).

Not sure how you arrived at cryptic or demanding when my post succinctly says "if interested".

In fact. I'd have posted both, but honestly didn't know if the site managers would object.

So, we can surmise from 'your' post. You're not interested. That's how it was supposed to work.

Hope it's not raining up your way and have a great day, K.

Actually, I was interested in the limitations of the factory roof rack, but normally folks just post a link to a YouTube video instead of a link to a page that listed parameters to search on YouTube. Seemed like a lot of unnecessary work for unknown reasons.

And no, it's not raining up here. It's 10 degrees, so...

I have used Gaia on an IPad for trip planning and navigating off-road and on my phone for hiking for 5 years. It does a great job for what I need it to do, I highly recommend the app.

You should really like the versatility offered now. Recent co-op w/Trails Off Road .com has enhanced the usability.

Has anyone tried camping with two people in the back of a 4Runner?

We will have a RTT but I'm thinking of building a platform for colder nights in fall or early spring. I'm 6-2 so need a high platform to clear the folded up seat bottoms but neither of us are overweight (much). Still it will be pretty tight.

Here is the platform I'm thinking of building. It's pretty slick.

I built a wooden platform and drawer system for my 2nd Gen, the sleeping area is 52” wide and 26” tall. It is very tight for the wife and I. We have to slither in the side doors and try to reach around and close them. Once we get 3” of foam pad set up, there is very little head room. Also everything has to come out to make room for sleeping. For us, it is much more comfortable and just as easy to set up a tent.

This Coleman is over twenty years old. The gas must be ten years old. No matter how long it sits, I pull it five times with the choke on and it starts.......And it’s tiny...1B9823C4-4D66-4F64-9116-95F13EB010A7.jpg

3302244F-2234-4E1C-BF6B-77D108CDE8CF.jpg It doesn’t only cool stuff but it heats too. And it has a battery saver that cuts it off if battery is drained too much...

Consider just taking out the seat bottoms to free up space? We sleep 2 in the back a lot. You can search my posts for pics.
