You're quite welcome Jerry. Keep us posted on how it goes. This run was last summer.

Hey Jerry, another thing that you probably already know, is when you lower body back down to stock height, or even an inch lift.
Be mindful of the fan shroud, the shifters and the coiled hard brake lines.
I'm probably missing a few things but it's what I thought of a few minutes ago.

Thanks Steve I have taken a look underneath the truck and have noticed where the extensions were made. It’s gonna be a little bit of work but I’m hoping I’ll get to tackle it soon.

They are the wheels it rolled off the assembly line with! OEM 15”x6” steel rims. They were originally white but I had them powder coated back in 2000... damn, has it been 20 years..?

I still have the stock suspension, and the tire size is 31x15's. My 4x4 shop has recommended some new springs, but I just put some Bilstein shocks on so suspension is working good. So I'm not sure if i want to spring for new springs, haha.

The tire size is 37/12.50 and it looks like he used a Skys Offroad Design SAS kit. Don’t know if he used Sky’s leaf springs or another brand(maybe RUF?). :notsure:

Hey everyone, I rescued this 89 4runner minutes before it was on it's way to get crushed. It's beyond bringing back to life. I've taken a few things off for myself so far. Message me if you see something you may want. It was running as of 6 months ago. I don't have a key so I haven't tried to start it.

    Welcome aboard!
IMHO, You made a good trade up :D

Enjoy, and don't be afraid to ask anything. None of us knew a bloody thing about these trucks until we got one (or more :) ) and started learning.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome. I’m currently working on a frame off diesel conversion on a 1978 fj55 land cruiser. Also have 60 and 40 series land cruisers. We had a couple of first gen 4Runners when living in Colorado. After selling them my wife said “ you’re going to regret selling them.” She was right.

Whatever you do, don't tell her she was right! You'll never hear the end of it. :ballchain::bowdown:

I'm kidding. I'm a firm believer in the old saying "Happy wife, happy life." It's served me well for almost 30 years now. :)

Hey guys. I’ve had this 4Runner in my life my entire life. Original owner is my dads best friend. I bought it from him when I was 18 years old I am now 35. 160k original miles. Just did a lot of work to her in the last few months.
