Does anyone know if the cross bars on the roof rack make anymore wind noise than without? If there is nothing loaded on it ?

I don't notice it when there's nothing loaded up there. I'm sure there's a little noise, but it's nothing obnoxious. Also, if you're just considering whether or not to get a set, they can always be removed in a few minutes pretty easily.

Thanks for the response. I honestly just think it looks nice. My roof rack on my Explorer was similar but all one piece.

I am planning to order one and trying to make sure I think this through. It’s neat to order one never done this before

Mine has a sticker on top of one of the roof rails that shows the "quietest position" for the front crossbar. What a nice touch! Without looking I think it's about a foot back from full forward. I don't have the factory crossbars but I'm really impressed that Toyota added a sticker to show the quietest position, I've never seen that detail on any other vehicle.
