Headlight problems

Hi all. I’ve got a 1995 Forerunner. No problems until recently when my left headlight won’t stay on. When I turn the key, it lights momentarily and then goes off. The right one is fine... been trying to nail down the problem without buying a brand new bulb. Also I don’t think the bulb is really the problem. Thoughts?

 

Check your connections. Sounds like something is loose.

 

Electrical problems like that are lots of times ground related.

If the filament in the bulb has actually broken it still may bridge and conduct current and illuminate. Then as it get hot the thermal expansion happens and the filament moves and disconnects and unbridged it becomes and then there is no illumination. If that is the case I highly recommend you replace the OEM headlights with Hella headlight housings that use double filament high low beam bulbs that you can replace from the back of the head lamp. If you go with a high current relay upgrade you can run the 100W/55W Canadian bulbs that are the best thing you can do with your headlights.
