Hello, just got my first 4runner, Stock 2014 4runner platinum 4x4 w/3rd row 65k miles, the tires are 265’s, stock roof rack and a moon roof. Loving it more n more everyday. I surf, go camping and now would like to enjoy some trails time to time. I’m in southern ca It’s mainly a daily driver for now. I surf a couple times a month but camping and trails will be a few times a yr. so I don’t think I need some heavy duty set up.

I was thinking a 1-2” lift and a friend suggested bilstein 5100’s for best bang for your buck?

From what I understand, as long as I stay under 2 1/2-3” lift I won’t have to replace my suspension. I want a decent clearance but not too high where I will have issues making clearance for places. My idea is subtle and functional.

    thanks!

You’ll replace your suspension if you want a suspension lift. If you’re going to use spacers you can use your factory suspension. He was probably referring to keeping factory upper control arms.
