Hello, I need some input on whether this 4runner is worth the time and hassle to purchase.

It is a 2001 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4 with 106k miles. Owner sounds like he's the 3rd owner of the vehicle. The Owner wants a asking price of 5.5k. Owner states that it has no rust, dents or scratches which from the pictures, there's no visible rust. Owner purchased the vehicle a year ago and now is selling because he is in need of a smaller vehicle.

Few things that I have noticed after looking at the maintenance records is that there's isn't much history on the 4runner other than having the 4runner inspected and pass emissions from the years of 2005-2015 with around 7k miles per year which the last known mileage was 79k miles in 2015. Then only in October 2018 at 100k miles oil change was done then in July 2019 at 104k miles oil change was done again. Forward to now, it's sitting at 106k miles with no more records.

Seems like the 1st owner had the vehicle until 79k miles. then the 2nd owner had the vehicle from ~80k to 104k miles then the 3rd owner (owner who's the selling the 4runner) had it from ~104k-106k miles.

The location of the 4runner is located in the Midwest.

Thanks you for reading. Any feedback would great!

Dude, that's a score! Other than the timing belt/water pump, not a whole lot of stuff should need replacing by 106K (especially on 3rd gens haha). I'd definitely take it to a trusted shop to get it checked out BEFORE you buy it, and IF you do buy it I'd for sure say to flush/fill all of your fluids. But hey, 5500 for a 3rd gen with only 100K miles?? Id go for it!!

I got a similar deal sent to me in NC from a seller in Maine for a car in CA. Lol. Be careful out there.

Sorry for a such delayed response guys, it was too good to be true. The 4Runner had electrical problems, so it was a pass. The search continues.

    Shame

These trucks are too easy to work on; on a good frame I would've jumped on it as electrical simply means you need to follow simple diagrams to diagnose.

Curious. What kind of electrical problems if you don't mind us asking? The car is pretty simple as mentioned above.
