I just joined 4Runners forum, but don't yet have a 4Runner. I'm just beginning my research, which brings me to my questions: What was the last year for the SR5 V8, and the first year for a backup camera? And if I can squeeze in one more question: which year/years are considered the most desirable and reliable by long-time 4 runner owners? Many thanks in advance for your input! Ron...

The last year for the V8 was 2009. Not sure about the backup camera. As far as desirable and reliable, they all are.

Back up camera, only need it if you have neck/back issues and can’t look at the mirrors, turn your head....

For some reason I do not use the back up camera. My Daughter has a 2000 with 296K miles on it. So, in my opinion they are all very dependable.
