Bought my 2006 Limited V8 in 2011 with 75000 miles. Has 230,000 now. I drive it in a lot of rough places in East Kentucky.

Until recently I have done very little work on it except breaks, cv joints and wheel bearings. Mud is tough on those. Also replaced a seat bottom on the drivers side.

It was leaking a little oil from the cam seals. I decided to get them replaced along with the timing belt last month. Was running good before but seems to run better now. (I'm sure it was the original timing belt)

Just got new tires and wheels. I kept the same 18" size, no lift or offset.

The mechanic said I need a few parts before I get an alignment.
-Left and right lower control arms.
    -Tie rod end
    -4 adjustment cams.

Going to get it done, but wanted to see if anyone knows what else might need replacement while I'm getting that done. Suggestions appreciated.

Shocks are something it probably needs. I like the ride and the the X-REAS system. What is involved in replacing these shocks?

Going to get some mud on it tomorrow.

On the same page as you bud. Got an 06 limited V8 with 211k. Had to replace brake pads, rotors and even calipers. Right caliper kept locking up. Replaced one of the cats too, pain in the sack fix, for $1600 fix.

you replace timing belt yet? btw any issues with sec air inject system too.

Truck looks great with lots of miles. Had the lower arms done on mine a few years ago at an alignment shop. V6 2005 150,000 miles Type T-IV.

Original WP and alternator. Brakes once. Don't try rebuilding calipers. Buy new ones.

One wheel bearing failure fixed by a mechanic. Would buy the whole hub on next one.

I fished with mine in tournaments. No offroading. Picture is Mahi Mahi (71.1 pounds) caught 20 years ago in Marlin Marine 2 day tournament. I gaffed the bad boy! Angler in the picture was a last-second replacement. He had never fished rod and reel before this day. Mahi took a drifted fresh frozen squid sold at the supermarket.
Mahi are found in every ocean on earth - and are great eating game fish that like to leap high out of water when hooked!

Posted for Florida fisherman to Google over. Near world record?

You may want to clean the throttle body, I have an 06 with about 194k. Made a good bit of difference! There is a secondary bypass for the 2nd air injector, I had that problem but Hewitt technology makes a “plug in bypass”

Most this fixes seem just, the lower control arms are probably from the xreas that are past their prime! Tons of options for aftermarket!!

    cheers

Yes I replaced the timing belt last month when I fixed the cam seals. Several of the bolts had seized and broke due to the time and heat. Had to be drilled out and re-tapped. That was expensive. $$$$

It sure is, but now you're good for probably 10 years.

Looks good. Maybe take on some of the simpler tasks yourself if you have the ability. Save yourself quite a bit of money long term and become.more familiar with the vehicle, and more comfortable keeping it long term
