Anyone interested in trading two wheel spacers?

I have Trail Gear 1.5" hubcentric 6x5.5 Aluminum wheel spacers. They've been on my truck for a couple months and ride perfect. Just don't want the tires to kick out quite as far as they do. They look like this:

Looking to trade for some Spidertrax or Trail Gear 1.25's. Let me know if you're interested.

For my curiosity, why only 2?

I have some 1" wheel spacers on the back right now and am really happy with where they sit. I tried the 1" up front and they didn't kick out as far as I wanted.......hence me trying the 1.5's.

I don't know this for sure, but I feel like the track width in the front is just a hair narrower than the back. Either that or the front fenders stick out just slightly more than the rear fenders.

I believe you are right, but just slightly. After reading your post i said to myself, that’s what i was thinking. So i went out to measure, i just took a straight edge across the tire at center of hub, and marked the floor on all four. I came up with about 5/8” wider at the rear, i know it’s a little rough but close enough for me.

Hey! Thanks for that @SlvrSlug!! To my eye, it looked slightly narrower up front but wasn't 100% sure.

Nice to know I can trust my eyes

Honestly i thought it would be more, because like you i kept thinking that it was more narrow in the front when looking at it. Anywho, it is. Good eye man

Something else I've noticed is that the track width is not even in the front. I think the passenger side wheel sticks out a little further than the drivers side.

That'll be a little harder to measure, but I think that's what's going on.

I should have realized this sooner @SlvrSlug, but our track width is narrower in the front because we are lifted. Lifting pushes the a-arms down and narrows the track width.

So when I buy spacers, I should make sure the back spacers are shorter (smaller) than the front, to ensure an even look/distribution? Is my assessment correct?

It depends if you're lifted or not.

If you're at stock height, I'm guessing the track width is the same (or close to the same) front and back, but this is an assumption as I've never measured this.

But it is true that the higher you lift your truck, the shorter your track width will be up front (up to a certain point) when using the stock arms.

The best thing to do is to measure your front track width after you lift and compare it to your rear. Then make a decision if larger wheel spacers make sense up front.

Also, as the truck is lifted, the center of mass moves up impacting the roll angle (minimizing it). I believe the OEM roll angle is ~30 degrees for FJ Cruiser and 4Runner. The roll angle is impacted by total weight of the vehicle (including passengers), bigger tires, weight distribution, etc so this ~30degrees is a reference for OEM only and even that is not accurate. Many ppl as they lift the truck, add spacers or replace the OEM wheels to bring the roll angle back.
