What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Just got 35% ceramic tint on my front windows.

 

Well, you’re correct and I thought using the dial would turn them all on…that freaking sucks; that’s how most manufacturers controls this… kind of aggravating… I do know that the switch between the overhead map lights control the lights come on/off when a door is open. I wonder if this can be adjusted in computer settings.?

 

People ask me why I drive my miata instead of the runner for daily driving and I tell them I drive the miata hard and still get 24+/gallon

 

1st time in snow

 

I looked at other options for mounting the control module under the hood and ultimately went with the SDHQ engine bay mount.

 

Took my Predator steps off my 5th gen and bolted them on my GX. Now the 5th gen needs a thorough detail and I’ll list it for sale.

Did you remove the side panels or cut them?

 

Just put a screen protector on the touch screen. The plastic is so soft on the touch screen that just using your hand can cause scuffs. I would highly recommend this as a first mod for a new vehicle owner.

We dun’ changed the oil today

 

Dropped the seats, threw in the clubs, and played nine holes of golf with SWMBO, Mrs. Catus. My first time golfing in January in Colorado.

What size lift and tires?

 

Had some minor damage to the bottom of my front fascia; so just used that as an excuse to do a mild high clearance cut. Cut just below the line where the bumper turns back inwards a bit; and squared off on the sides.

Not a great picture as it’s really cold out at the moment, so justpulled it partially out of the garage so I could visually confirm that I got the lines the same, then snapped a quick pic.

I’m not 100% sure that I’m happy with the cut (aesthetically)... but I’m a bit hesitant to cut again. From the front it looks okay, from the sides not so much. I could maybe try following the angle up a bit instead of squared off, but not sure if I’d like that either, and where it terminates now is convenient as it stops at a inner liner mounting point (which of course I realize I could move if needed).

Almost half tempted now to just switch to a full width high clearance bumper.

 

Are you referring to the factory running boards? Yes, I've removed them to trim and reinstall.

You need to follow the line all the way up otherwise it doesn’t look right. Put some black tape on the bumper and stand back. That’ll give the illusion you cut it all the way up and give you an idea of what it’ll look like once you do.

 

Thanks. I did already tape it off with blue with sort of the same idea (black would have been better suited); and googled pictures of others that have done it... it's at least worth a try; def not going to make things worse at least, lol.
