    Hi all,

Anyone have pics and options for the light bars behind the mesh grill with TSS?

The only one I have seen is Cali Raised with the light bar going behind TSS. Any other options?
Also, anyone do 2 light bars by Cali Raised?

    Thank you!

I'm going to be adding a Rigid 20" SR in the upper grill.

These bajadesigns led light bars are really bright. I’m adding the 30 inch to my tundra pro. All depends what your using it for. I like having it because of all the back roads where I live and all the deer around.

Or you could go this route with some LP6 or LP4 lights behind the grille. I chose 2 LP6s and will be adding some more behind the grille lights, 2 LP4s!

    That does look badass!!

But still... I have to believe that SOMEONE has found a solution to this by now! In the lower part, of the lower grill, it just looks like there is just a "supporting piece of plastic" underneath the actual TSS. Is there anything even in there? Can it be removed some how? Can it be modified somehow to allow any of the light bar to shine through?

I know it's just my opinion, but I feel like this is such a terrible limitation that has been built into the 4runner for off road lighting opportunities....

I would put a Rigid SR in the upper grill like @DallasTRDPro mentioned above. I have a 20" SR in my bumper and D-SS ditch lights and it's plenty for me.

Or, you could do 2 shorter bars on either side of the TSS sensor. :notsure:

Do you have more pics to show the finish of the grill? Did you use a utility knife to do the cut? I like to do factory like installs so very scared of cutting.

I have Diode Dynamic SS6 behind grill and don't have much usable light. May be the grill is blocking light or the light bars does not have good optics for the price ($220 in May 2021).

This also makes me think about a custom upper grill... Maybe 3D printed or something that has a flush mount option or something like they have for other vehicles... Just an example: https://www.roughcountry.com/dodge-30in-dual-row-black-led-mesh-grille-70199c.html

I think this would be pretty awesome - IF it is done right!!

Oh hell yeah.. If there is a factory like upper grill where a BD lightbar can fit I'm ready to spend $$$ for BD 20in lightbar. I think they have best usable light output.

They're brighter than my Rigid SR series 20", but the E series Rigid has almost double the output.

I was going to do the LP6 or 4’s when I had my 4runner and I also had the NFab light bar mount for behind the grill. Sold the mount and just went with the bajadesigns 20. That grill does not stop much light. If you go with a high output light it’s plenty. I did not want to pull off my front bumper to do the LP’4’s.

    The BD 20" ONX6+ produces 24,920 lumens.

My Rigid SR is around 17K.

The Rigid E series pro, 20" driving pattern is at 47,520.

It also retails over $1K! There's a guy on Tacomaworld who does pretty good discounts on Rigid lights, though.

    Nice!

Or you can leave the grill uncut.

Baja lights are very nice! As far as I know, they're the only company really giving Rigid and competition for light bars. I would go with either one for most lighting needs, aside from fogs. Diode Dynamics has the best fogs.

And, 25K lumens will be plenty bright! This is my ~17K lumen SR. The trees are about 500' away.

Were you completely happy with the S8 bar? Or were you ever wanting more light? Or light that projected farther out?

Was very happy with the output. The only reason I sold it I new it would not work on my tundra Pro. I’m adding the 30 inch probably the same bar in amber. I had the Cali led bar on my Tacoma years ago but my bajadesigns way brighter. You cannot go wrong with either bar. But everyone has there preference.

Found another pic. It's a little close to the trees, but shows the color better.

I really just want to see someone modify that lower grill area to get a full 30” bar in there…

If you really want a 30", why not just mount it in front of the grill, below the sensor. It would certainly looks as god as, or better than, cutting the grill.

I don’t think my OCD would allow that. Lol

As it is, I’m going to have a hard time with the “chrome face” of the light bar behind the grill.‍♂️ I know, I know…

Regardless, I am just look for options and seeing what is out there so I can incorporate these things into my T4R when I get home from deployment!

If you want to hide it, you might be able to do 2 shorter light bars to leave a gap for the sensor.
