    Hi guys,

Couldnt find any answers about this on the internet.

I'm taking delivery of my 2021 4runner TRD pro next tuesday and we're in the middle of the winter here.

I know the truck comes with Nitto Terra grapplers G2 tires but from my research, there is 2 models for these tires. One that is not ''snow'' rated and one is.

I Basically want to know, if anyone knows, which tires specifically the truck will come with.

    ( The salesman doesn't know, i asked already )

    Thank you

Look for the 3 peak peak mountain snowflake on the sidewall.

If I had to guess, the SL rated versions are 3PMSF rated and the LT versions might not be. Toyota would put the SL rated versions on.

Can't wait to have the 4runner :). I currently have a 2019 tacoma. Hopefully the 4runner will tow the bassboat just as good as the tacoma did!

Mine has done well towing a fishing boat. I recommend towing in S4. I believe the manual suggests this as well. I usually bump it up to S5 in flat areas and back to S4 on inclines.

theres no snowflake symbol on my tires so id say it isnt. Plus I can tell you from experience they dont do that great on snow without traction control on.

We had Terra Grappler G2's on our 2016 and liked them a lot, but they are not 3PMSF rated. That being said, they always did great going up to the mountain or over the pass. Never used our chains.

I just picked up my 2021 TRD Pro. As others have said, the stock Terra Grapplers are not snow rated. I’ve heard pretty middling to negative reviews about them on snow and ice, so I just put a set of Blizzak DM-V2s on it. I’ve learned from experience that good dedicated snow tires can make a world of difference, so for me it was a no-brainer. And it’ll double the life of the factory tires, so beyond the initial extra outlay of money, there’s really nothing to lose.

I hope to get some nittos someday. Any tire is better than the stock tires that come on the SR5.
    Bridgestone street tires!
    Very disappointing!

A lot of tires suck in snow. Snow rated tires are generally much better. Actual winter tires are amazing!

Are KO2s not good in the snow?

They are a "3 Peak Mountain Snowflake" tire which designates them as being rated for severe snow service.

I had a set in load range C and they were good, not amazing, in snow. In my opinion, they were good enough for year round duty in areas where the roads are maintained in the winter. But, if you live somewhere that the roads are covered with packed snow all winter, I would look at a set of dedicated winter tires.

Nitto Terra Grapplers do not perform well in the snow. KO2s and General Grabbers are better, dedicated snows are of course the best as stated above.

The one thing about the Nittos is they seem to have balanced the easiest on the sensitive 4Runner front end of any tire I have had on the truck.
