So I was going through my menu system today and came across something interesting and just wanted to see if you guys had any input on this.

Brand new 4Runner that was manufactured in August. I have 3,000k miles on it with no issues. Are these stored alerts from when it was built? Whatsup with these stored malfunctions?

I noticed the same thing a few weeks after I got mine home. The dates correlated to a week or two before purchase. Maybe a dealer activation of the systems or something I’m guessing.

It’s been a little a few weeks since I noticed it, but I believe so. All at the same time stamp, too, if I recall correctly.

I noticed the same thing on mine the other day. I only have 800 miles on mine.... all same time stamp. Guessing is a dealer/port activation thing. They probably have a shipping mode from the factory. Would love to know for sure.

I had the same scenario. I brought it in and had the dealer check it out. They said nothing was wrong. Although they didn’t clear them out...

Glad to hear I’m not alone. Must be something they do when they build them. Mine were all from the actual build date of my 4Runner.

    Yeap. Me too.

Could be a factory thing. The date is about a month before arrival to port according to dealer

Good to hear this is normal. Glad I asked as this may help someone in the future who searches for it.

I saw the same thing today on my new 4Runner. Same three messages. Checking with the dealer, but glad to hear it's nothing to be concerned about.

I actually noticed this to on my 4Runner which is one of the reasons I got online to figure what these meant and that's what brought me to this site. I'm so glad I found this site cuz it seems like alot of really good information on here. Anyway, my 4Runner has less than 300 miles so I wasn't sure if I should be worried about it. I did email the dealership today about it. I assumed it had been done during the time they received it.

After I read this post I thought; "Wonder if ours has this going on?" Yep, it does, maybe it's the final test at the assembly plant before they ship them.

I had the same question yesterday. I made an appointment to go to have it checked. I was shocked. The guy said "we'll see you in a few hours" as in leave it here till we get to it. I'm able to check codes (more TIS like) so left and checked when I got home-I shouldn't have to do this with a car that's only a few days in my possession. No codes so I cleared the history. BTW, if you read the messages, most of them tell you to check with the dealer...

My gut tells me This error occurs when the battery is connected and for whatever reason, the PDI process does not clear these errors, just any CEL kinds of errors. If you get a good tech, the stored messages get cleared. Otherwise, forgotten.

I'm kinda pissed to read this thread and have a service advisor/writer tell me he had no idea. Worse, tell me it's hours of waiting.
