My Father always calls his white 2015 GMC Yukon "The Refrigerator" so that makes this crossover "The Mini Fridge."

    Trip Reports:

    Lake Powell/Grand Canyon (09/02/2015)

This was with my old truck but still an awesome trip!

Geared up and ready to go with the new CVT tent.

Rainbow Bridge is a nice view to take in.

Got to wakeboard with some scenery.

We went and saw Horseshoe bend before making our way towards the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

Next stop was Havasupai Point at the Grand Canyon. It's about 40 miles off road. At first it is easy fire road, but recent monsoons have left the last 10 miles of the path in shambles. It was tough at times and I was babying the truck so we didn't get stranded.

We crossed the Grand Canyon railroad and I saw a photo op.

It has rained recently so I had some fun.

We were lucky to avoid rain while we were there.

Finally we made it and I got to try out the new CVT Mt. Cayley tent.

And our view from our tent window!

Ended up splitting off to do some trails with one of the only other 4Runners in the group, @Boffroad, and camped with them at Fish Creek.

    Ran through Coyote Canyon Trail

Did touristy things like pose next to statues

    Can't wait to go back!

    Figueroa Mountain (04/09/16):

Fun trip. Not too many pics though since it was raining. We stayed in the rig most of the time.

One of the prettier places I've been and I somehow managed to hit my sliders on a dirt road. Was all driver error and they deflected the hit just fine.

    West Camino Cielo (04/16/16)

I've been playing with photo editing. I know I am no good... haha. Practice makes perfect!

    So retro:

    Such posing:

    Nice views!

Damage: I got cocky, didn't see a 5" thick tree branch hanging into the road. Lets just say it is no longer hanging into the road... If you look close at the driver door, there is a 5" long dent and scratch.

Could have been so much worse!

    Figueroa Mountain (04/23/16)

We got to camp and set up a few of the trucks to hold our spot.

I had a headache, what I thought was from lack of coffee for the day so I didn't want to drive on any trails. I road with @fishfinder in his truck on the way up and @logcabinwc on the way down. Both rides were fun, I just felt like shit.

On the way back to camp I was feeling worse and worse. I got back to camp and deteriorated into a ball in a chair by the fire. I started to realize I was getting a terrible migraine. My girlfriend made me go lay in the tent for a couple hours to try to sleep it off. I couldn't sleep at all. I was extremely photo sensitive and becoming nauseous. I couldn't eat dinner and my girlfriend ended up driving me home in case I had to go to the hospital or something. No camping for me... :(

    Stagecoach Country Music Festival (04/29/2016)

My girlfriend and I have made it a tradition of ours to head to Indio, CA for Stagecoach once a year with 12 of our closest friends. I mean that literally as well as figuratively as we try to fit 7 tents and 4 cars in a 500 Sq. Ft. Lot to camp there. This year marked exactly 3 and a half years we have been dating so it was even better.

Saw the Budweiser Clydesdales inside the venue as well! Really cool animals.

Unrelated to Stagecoach, but I added lighting to my tent before leaving this year. Turned out great and I love the utility.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

You can see in the last pic the ratchet straps running from my sliders to the tent and ladder. It was so windy the first night that I am confident that if I didn't do this, we would have been folded up in the night. I barely slept for fear that something was going to rip off the tent. Not to mention the noise.

Overall it was another success and I can't wait until next year!

    Planned Trips:

Overland Expo West in Flagstaff (05/22/16)
Sparks, Nevada to Lake Tahoe (09/23/16)
Annual TW Christmas Tree Run, NorCal (December, 16)

    Sweet Jesus.

Better learn to rebuild those Omega's yourself or you'll be spending a fortune sending those out to Icon.

And oh how I miss that SB weather.

It's not terrible if you go to one of their rebuild locations.

It was 80 in SB today :)

I sent it to DSM but they told me they can't rebuild Omega's, so they sent them off to Icon. BAM - $700 rebuild.

Yep...just like I remember. I used to live right off Cliff, and go jogging on Shoreline. And now that I think about it, I probably haven't jogged since.

    Why couldn't they? Weird.

I believe they don't stock the parts for them.

Sounds about right. Place is just a college/party/vacation town.

Strange. Well hopefully some shop in CA can so I don't have to ship them. I was hoping to find a shop that would let me just leave the rig there while they did it since I don't have other shocks to throw in.

Well there's a bunch of long travel guys in SB. I would probably just ask one of them to teach you. I know dsm generally charges more to work on icon shocks too because they are annoying to work with.

I just have another car to drive when my 4runner is down. Makes life easy.

I'd like to learn. I don't have the money or space to buy another car unfortunately. I'll be driving a lot for work too.
I bought it this weekend haha. Same one that was on CL.

Before I got the car, my solution was to just keep extra shocks around. Need to send off the rear shocks? Great, slap on the spares and you can keep rolling.

Yeah. I'll probably try to buy some stock ones off of somebody or rent a car for the rare week that I will have to send them in every other year or so. I don't know how frequently they need to be rebuilt but mine don't see dirt all too often.

Thanks! I'm digging the less flashy look than brushed steel.

This weekend should be great for me. I have a few small projects.

    1. Wire up my amber rigid dually's in my rigid factory fog light mounts.
    2. Wire up my CB radio (hooking it up to an antenna on a CBI hood hinge mount)
    3. Install my aux. fuse block
    4. Hopefully install my Shrockworks aluminum Washer Fluid Reservoir... If it arrives by then. I'm so tired of not being able to clean my windshield.
