no problem, that goes for any part, we process a good amount of 4runners at work so we have tons of OEM parts for them

No its Pretty Easy, it can be done while still on the vehicle, the trick is to make sure the Elocker is in the OFF position (Diss Engaged) and then just simply remove the 2 nuts and 1 bolt that attache the motor to the carrier itself and it comes right off.

You know what parts are gold that most people forget on the 4Runners if you keep them on the shelf. The four sensors/ actuators that control the 4x4 system on the multi modes. I called Toyota for them and they want like 140 each and you cant return them. One on front the back and two on the trans. case.

Do you have to have it in 4Low to engage the E-locker? I tried engaging my elocker while in 2wd and it wouldn't go in. Threw it into 4x4 and then tried to re-engage it and it finally went in

Yes I've tried all 4x4 options. The Diff lock light just continually blinks, haven't gotten around to replace it yet. My 4x4 works like it should in all options. I'm not even really sure how to check if the diff motor is bad. From what I've seen its a fairly pricey part. Hate to buy one and it not fix the problem. I reckon I'll have to run it by the Toyota dealer, but I don't really trust dealers around here.

I think I'll check the part price with calminitruck if it turns out to be the motor. Just wish I knew how to check one.
