    Hi,

I'm an old 39 yr 4 Runner guy, had a gen 1, 2, presently 3 and shopping for a low miles 2014 Trail Edition in Barcelona Red. According to what I'm seeing there's quite a wealth of knowledge between you all, and I feel in real good company, and am very happy to have the privilege of joining you. My question today is about ABS. I've disconnected it on my present 2000 SR5 because I can easily do better without it on gravel or snow. I'm wondering if any of you have done this mod on a gen. 5, and if it's a complicated mod with lots of downsides? I'm also aware that technology has marched on in the last 15 yrs and that now maybe such a mod would be totally unnecessary.
Thanks in advance for your feedback on this question

I'm not quite sure if I'm going about this the right way Bob, I'm not so young anymore and not particularly computer literate, but here goes anyway. I'm from the ranching country of southern British Columbia, am retired, and use my 4 Runner for everything, besides a motorcycle that's the only vehicule I own. I hunt with it, I explore with it, sleep and camp out of it, everything. Next April, if I haven't found a replacement I will be using it to explore the southern Utah parks, Canyonlands in particular. The odometer reads 350,000 kms (about 220,000 miles) it's bone stock, and has served me well thus far, with only reasonable repair costs. That being said, the time has come to look for something not quite as ancient. I've never had a diff lock and that is something I'm looking forward to in the TE. KDSS will also be exciting to have. I hope it works as well as I hear it does and that it's as low maintenance as the rest of the vehicule. In terms of mod, I don't think I would, or could afford to go beyond a mild lift with Bilstein 5100's in the front and maybe a small spacer in the back so as to keep a little bit of rake for when I'm loaded.

Thanks in advance for your help with my question about ABS disabling.
