I'm the original owner of a 1989 4 Runner with manual shift. While replacing the floor liner by someone other than myself, the shifter trim bezel was damaged. The only place I have found a replacement is on E-bay and the price is out of sight. The trim bezel originally on the vehicle had the embedded tray in the front of the bezel. The bezel is one piece.

Those, like a clean dash pad, are becoming hard to find and very expensive when one does come around. I keep an eye on many FB groups and Instagram sellers for 1st gen parts and I rarely see one available.

What is damaged about it? They are repairable.

I do not think it is repairable; broken in several places to include where the screws go to hold it in plave.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Don't forget, there's always the pick-a-part junk yards. Just because the truck is trashed, doesn't mean the part you're looking for is.

There are a couple of first gens being parted out on Denver Craigslist. Saw an 86 and an 88.

I went on about a 2-week bender looking for this same part. I ended up checking Facebook Marketplace everyday for people in my local area parting out their 4runner and putting a filter on to only show postings in the past 24 hours. They go quick, Good Luck!

Thanks for your response! Question! In your search did you also ask and/or look at the Toyota Pickup (PU) for that era. As you well know, Toyota covered the bed of their small PU to make the 4 Runner.

Try this guy in Florida, his name is Morgan and owns . He has dozens of 4Runner part outs in his yard and deals in nothing but Toyota parts.
This other fellow is in Florida as well and may have something salvageable in his yard. He is the admin for fb page.
I just sold mine. There are a lot of 1st gen part outs in Florida, but I did have trouble locating parts as well. One of the reasons I sold it.

    Good Luck!

I'm not on Face Book. Email only. Do you have the email address of Fuel Infected, Bubba Monett, and Florida Toyota Truck Parts?

I understand not being on fb. I only have an alias with a secondary email add and 1 friend lol.
Unfortunately I dont have contact info for either one. I only know Morgan thru friends and bought a tail gate one time at his yard.
    Sorry man....

Yes, I did. Every bezel I saw for the pickup didn't have the embedded tray in the front. I don't know if that was coincidence or not. Also, if you're looking for aftermarket shift boots in the future, it's the 11.5" opening, not the 10.5" opening. I almost made the mistake of getting the 10.5".

I also tried searchtempest.com (can perform multiple craigslist searches) and came back with a lot of hits. My goal was to find somebody who would ship to me. If I didn't have Facebook, I think this would be my second best bet.

Thanks. Trying to find parts for older vehicles is not easy unless one wants to pay am outrageous price.

Totally Agree. It's going to be a matter of finding it at the right time without rushing. I found one guy (2 day old posting) that I missed a trim bezel for - He was asking $45. 3 days later I found the one I have for $30. Most everyone else was looking for ~$100 and then the absurd ebay bezels for $200+. Don't give up!

No give up here. The 4 Runner and I have been together for 31 years. Not saying it looks brand new but when I take it shopping there's always someone making compliments or wanting to buy it. Of course, they do not have any idea what a good one is worth.
