Fan Bearing Breaking

    I just had my v8 4runner practically destroy itself. The whole radiator has been smashed by the fan and the belt snapped and pulleys ripped off. I took it to my mechanic and he said that the fan bearing broke and it seized the fan, which caused the belt to just shred and break everything. Has anyone ever had this issue? It was pretty violent and caused all the coolant from the radiator to spill out, smoking and everything. Was quoted $1400 to fix it all. Any insight would be appreciated.

    My 4runner hasn't pulled that trick. However Chevrolet police vehicles were famous for it. Might be an issue with the company making of the part
