Spacer Lift on 2019 Limited

Hey guys, I'm interested in doing a 3" spacer lift on my 2019 Limited and keeping the x-reas for now. I know there's been a bunch of threads about x-reas spacer lifts but I've noticed some of the manufacturers are saying their spacer lifts arent recommended on post 2018 4Runners.

i.e. from toytec's site:

• Not recommended for 2018+4Runners with XREAS

Is this just because they haven't done the QA testingon 2019? AFAIK nothing has changed in suspension between 2018-2019.

Anyone know what my options are to lift a 2019 with x-reas?

 

A spacer lift more than 1" is a bad idea imo

 

Why's that? It seems quite common in the forums for folks with limited that don't want to ditch x-reas yet but want to get 33s on which is what im looking for.

 

I've asked some suspension gurus and they claim those higher spacer lifts really make the ride terrible and stress the suspension components leading to issues.

 

I see no reason why an XREAS compatible spacer lift from 2017 wouldn't work on 2018+, as you said, it's the same truck.

Probably call Toytec for clarification.

I'd limit a spacer lift (really any front lift, actually) to 2.5", more than that and you're in new UCA territory which would make the spacer lift pointless (since the purpose of a spacer lift is to do it on the cheap). I have, in a past life, used the TT 2.5" spacer on a non-REAS and it was just fine, rode fine, no issues; so don't [that concern you.

 

Any spacer lift should not be allowed.

It makes the suspension very rough and uncomfortable. Had it on my Tundra and I swore never again.

I can imagine a 3" spacer will be back breaking.

 

Just did 3in Toy-Tec leveling 1.5 in the rear ride is actually better not stiff at all.

 

Just to close the loop here... I contacted toytec regarding their spacers on 2019 models and this is their response:

So we have seen in our testing that on the newer XREAS equipped 4Runners that the rear shocks are waaaay to short to even add 1.5'' spacers without topping them out/ damaging the suspension system..

Perusing the forums people have definately done the toytec 3" lift on 2019s but I guess they have just assumed the risk of going against official recommendation.

 

Reviving this one. I have a 2" front, 1" rear spacer lift on my 19 Limited. It still rides higher in the rear & I would like it more leveled. I have ordered and am installing Toyotec's 3 inch front lift in the next 3 weeks. I am going to install the front and see how it looks, rides and drives. If I need to install the rear 2" kit (included in the kit) on the rear, I will follow up with that.

 

I had the same problem when I wanted a lift on my 2019 Toytec told me that I can't even have a 1.5 lift in the back as the shocks are too short. I had to get Bilstien 5100s. Which means X-reas will go in trash.

Not sure if other shops will do it but Toytec will need longer shocks if you want to lift Limited.

 

If you’re high in the rear with 2/1 you’ll still be rear high with 3/2. If you want level you’re going to need 3/1.5 or 2/.5 our trucks sit high in the rear to begin with.
