Currently running BFG T/A KO's. Love them and will use them 9 months of the year. We just came through a blizzard 5 days ago and the BFGs did fine, but I'm working in town and didn't go to the cabin I'll be retiring to in months.
The better-half was at the cabin and stuck there for the 5 days of the winter storm. She came home today via her Chevy Trax and now understands why I ordered studdable snow tires that will be here this week :)

When I ordered the Cooper Snow Claws to stud out I also ordered Toyota steel rims..just like my spare tire. I'll have the Tire Barn install the tires to rims and stud them (if Tire Barn can, if not off to another shop in town that can).

So finally the question. Do i HAVE to put TPMS sensors in these dedicated seriously crap road condition tires? I'm dutiful in checking air pressure and know my life is on the tires (someone elses too). If all I have to put up with is a light on the dash, well I'll adjust to that soon enough.
But a constant beeping my grate the better-half's nerves.

I'll be swapping tires/wheels at home on the carport and am picking up a Harbor Freight floor jack this week. For the 2-3 months I'll be riding on studs I'd prefer not to fool with TPMS.

Your thoughts please....and remember I've now been in the Toyota world for just barely two weeks.

Why studded? This is this past weekend, front yard and backyard. It will look like this until mid-april give or take an inch or 10.

You don’t have to but you will have the little annoying low tire pressure light on.

And after the thaw and I put my 'normal' tires back on. What will I have to do to get rid of the light?

    Stock....for now
Agree the light will be annoying but somehow we have all survived for decades without these. I ran through some pretty bad storms in my earlier days with no TPMS sensors....and I'm still alive. ;)

I’m not sure if this was the forum that I read this on.
It was about a guy that made a vessel out of PVC to capture the 4 tpms in and used a Schrader valve to pressurize it.
Seem doable to me. But having a strong enough signal sent to the receiver could be an issue.
Therein lies my weakness of knowledge.

Or you could do this. I haven't had TPMS since I changed rims/tires.
