Hey guys new owner here of a 2018 4Runner. I’m in search of a 2’ remote socket extension for warn. I’m not a fan of having to remove the support cover every time I want to plug my remote it. I can’t find anything in town and online prices are pretty spendy. Let me know thanks!!

Just FYI... I bought one of those with the intention of putting it in the grille for pretty much the same reason you mention. I found it to be pretty useless. The plug that goes into the winch is a very sloppy fit and won't stay installed over bumps and such. It's absolutely not worth the $60 or so they want. I never used it and sold it pretty quick.

Problem with wireless (cause I tried that too) it's it also won't stay plugged in over bumps and such, plus the remote isn't totally waterproof.

In the end this was the best option for me

Upgrade to the new Zeon or VR series with wireless remote. Expensive but problem solved.

Great insight thanks. Wireless was a first thought actually but wired seems more reliable but apparently not lol. I’m not a mechanic by any means so your picture isn’t making much sense about my remote ability. Mind explaining?

If you scroll through the installs here (both are mine, one on a 2017 SR5 and one on a 2019 ORP) you can see how I pulled off the radiator top cover (I assumed that was what you were referring to by "support cover"?) and then cut a hole in it to access the winch clutch and the remote plug. To use, I pop the hood open and stick my arm into the hole. There's enough room to plug in the remote and / or work the clutch. Full disclosure, on the 2019 I have the wireless VR winch so I don't need to plug in the remote, but I made the access big enough to be able to... and I still have to access the clutch through it.. .
