    hey there everybody.

today while changing out my a burned out/dim hvac bulb i had the weirdest thing occur.

hvac pannell was removed successfully, i disconnected the pannel to get at the temp up/down bulb and replaced it no problem.

i then removed the hazard light switch to replace that bulb, as it was dim also.

    everything went back together fine.

i put the key in the ignition and turned the key, flipped on the lights to demonstrate the new bulbs were functioning correctly, and they both were nice and bright. happy me.

BUT, now the fuel mileage/ range meter above the hvac controls is acting up. soon after (1second) flashing the range left in my fuel tank (430km), it then displays E01.

    the darndest thing i say.

as i said before, all the control lights illuminate.

i did some investigating further by plugging in my obd2 reader and opened up the torque lite app. i wanted to see what it would say for mileage seeing as my meter is no longer working. torque lite app is showing average fuel useage.

    there are no fault codes,

    somethings up.

    any ideas?

    Guess the basic thing first.

Did you disconnect the battery before changing bulbs?

i should have included that when describing my first step, but yes i did.

all work with wiring commences with 'step 1: disconnect the f'n battery'

Just gotta ask. Be amazed how much people leave it connected and wonder why things don't work after.

I say give it a tank or 2 maybe just need to relearn since it is just a calculation.
