$10 says I can get this ish on NBC Nightly News.

"Better check your next new vehicle with a fine-toothed comb in today's world of interesting marketing or you might just end up paying more... for less." - Lester Holt

More riviting than whatever else they're talking about these days, I'm sure..

*Calls Toyota PR dept.* "If I don't get a TRD rear valence and shift knob in my mailbox by next week!.."

Is it mean trd off road trim doesn’t have a A-trac button?

Hehe yeah I'm looking into it now. I always felt like something was missing from the rear bumper honestly but just didn't pay quite enough attention, until now, to figure it out. Once I noticed the definite extra "bulge" on the TRD OR silver part, I was like ".. wait.. isn't mine .. smoother?" Then I checked.

Do you know anything about the swap? I read somewhere that there are already marks on the inside of all bumpers that show where to drill so that the rear valence can be installed.

I'm also wondering if I should go for the PRO valence or the OR valence.. I wonder how the PRO black valence would match, or clash, with my midnight black paint.

Fortunately the valences aren't marked up to the moon like the heritage grille.

This information is incorrect. All 4x4 4Runners have A-trac.

Dude let me give you a piece of advice.. take that comparison tool.. and throw it out the window. It's wrong, and well, basically useless.

Buying a Toyota will literally require you to make your own checklist and then go to the dealer with it. Even different dealers / regions will have the same vehicles with different options, so don't assume too much. That's apparently Toyota's structure of parts-bin use. Then there is the fact that a multi-billion dollar company can't even have someone check their own documentation for errors (as you're finding). Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. lol such is life!

If you go the OR valance it won't match the front black valance.

How to remove the rear bumper here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNGB5jOLIwQ

Lots of good info on adding rear valance here: Besides the rear valance, you also have to purchase the clips that hold it in place.

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
I was at my Toyota dealer yesterday as a friend of mine bought another Prius Limited (aka Pious). His was just totaled last week.
I walked over and looked that the 4 Ventures they had, noted the lack of the rear Valance, and thought to myself - that's nice!!!
I'd so much rather have a body color plain rear bumper instead of that stupid silver rear Valance.

Besides the valance you would need to purchase the clips (see: https://www.ebay.com/i/274592080655?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=274592080655&targetid=1068323850910&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9007178&poi=&campaignid=10897989831&mkgroupid=108153387980&rlsatarget=aud-622524042958%3Apla-1068323850910&abcId=9300403&merchantid=6506344&gclid=Cj0KCQiA5vb-BRCRARIsAJBKc6IU2kJ_OzLsESlHSKubWbC4QMFRXfDjJR3Jog6eTCtzlm_OxxnWxqEaAgbtEALw_wcB)

The and you would need to cut out the holes in the rear bumper to insert the valance and secure with the clips. Where to cut is already marked on the inside of the bumper.

Looks a lot more involved that I first thought. Maybe a project I'll save for after the winter. Thank you!

I feel like the venture with a rear valance would look a little busy. I dont mind the no valance look on them but thats just me..

Other than the black rear spoiler, what's busy since it matches all other 4Runners. Just curious.

I changed my comment probably at the same time you were responding but I just mean with the basket, rear spoiler, blacked out emblems its more going on than than an SR5 or OR. Obviously you can take the basket off and 1/3 of that goes away but most of the ones I see still have that load warrior up there still so I assume most people leave it. Yes otherwise they are exactly the same, I just think the clean bumper look looks better. But we all know what opinions are like..

No slight intended ... genuinely interested in your opinion. When I purchased my 2020 I asked the dealer to not install the roof basket. Currently have it safely put away and will install if/when am going to use it.

Smart move. I just took mine off a day before a snow storm. It would be impossible to clean the snow off the roof with that basket.

I had the offgrid for about a year and used it for camping trips but I couldnt get used to the wind noise on the highway. I just throw my totes in the back seat usually now, and have an old yakima roof box I throw up there for going skiing if I cant just flip down that single rear seat.

I meant to reply a few days ago but got distracted.

The picture in post 2 is not a SR5 bumper. If it's anything, it's a color matched OR valance, which could easily be removed and painted or swapped out for the Pro rear valance (black).

Also to OP who is lamenting loss of the valance for off road protection; it adds nothing and actually is more prone to incurring off road damage as it protrudes further.

Finally, the Venture is mechanically identical to an ORP (including Atrac). The 2020+ "Trail" is the SR5 package (which also has Atrac, if anyone cares).

(Edited as after reading all the posts it appears the image in post 2 isn't the bumper the Venture is equipped with)

What did you use? I replaced my TRD tranny shifter knob with an FJC one that matches the TC shifter knob...

I replaced my silver/black TRD knob with the all-black version. I absolutely love the way it looks. Not sure why, but it is way better than the silver/black version.

Yep... gets in the way, gets scratched from loading and unloading, from labrador paws and offers zero protection....who cares if you have a valance?

Well if you scratch up or crack that valence, it's much cheaper to remove and replace (~$150) than it is to repaint the bumper (~$400).

So I don't understand how you say it offers zero protection lol...

I also like the way it looks. "Beefens" up the rear end a bit. Without it, dare I say my 4Runner looks a little top heavy. To each his own there.
