I got a fast wireless charging puck on sale, like one of these:
    https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/6114qzNg-3L._AC_SX425_.jpg
and I wanted to sort of DIY it into that bottom cubby in front of the transfer case before maybe doing a more permanent solution with a different charger (I've seen people mount on the insider/underside of that cubby.
Given the space exists, IDEALLY I'd want to have it "angled up" a bit so the entry is higher than the back, so things would hold a lot better over bumps or offroading and phone less likely to jump out of there.
The charger + phone fit fit just fine, although there's actually just too much space. And given it's a single coil charger, placement has to be a little more precise. I tried using that adhesive weatherstripping to creating a front lip, side "guardrails" and a back pad (if phone goes all the way to back it's not centered over the charger) but ultimately the adhesive just wasn't strong enough.
I don't have a 3D Printer which seems like maybe it would be a great solution here... I thought about making a little insert holder out of like 1/8" wood panel, but not even sure if that would work. Any ideas? In an ideal world I can have the cubby+charger set up so I can easily just place the phone in there without worry

Looking for something like this? I have a 3d printer and would be interested in helping you find a solution

The 4R console is kinda useless in terms of storage. That’s probably the only thing I dislike about it.

haha yes, almost exactly that idea!

I actually just bought a 3D printer for myself for xmas... totally new to 3d printing and very new to modeling too. I'd imagine it's a pretty simple design, and I'll get to doing measurements but any tips to get started with making:

The wedge shape like you have? I've only really done square to square stuff.
A recessed circular hole in the middle-ish allowing the wireless charging puck to sit flush with surface
A cutout/channel for the cable to run from the charger out
A lip opposite the "tall side of wedge" to prevent phone sliding too far in and off-center of the charger?

    :)

I threw that together in tinkercad. Just measure the space you're designing for and convert inches to centimeters to get the exact measurements. You'll find tinkercad very easy to use. I'll post a link to this design so you can tinker with it.

Awesome! Might as well measure and design it out before the printer arrives so I'll be all set! Thanks!
