Will a T9 headunit fit my needs?

just bought a 2016 4runner limited. it is perfect in every way except for the radio. my 2000 Cadillac escalade has a better sound system in it.

the blu tooth when answering the phone has alot of static and is near unusable. and not to mention that there is no tire pressure readings on the display.

so what im looking for is a bigger screen, android os, still be able to use the steering wheel controls, way better blu tooth for phone calls. and something that can interface with the obd2 plug to get more info from the ecu (like tire pressure).

im thinking of the t9 not trying to spend over 600.

thanks for the help in advance

T9 will be your best bet unless you want to spend about 1500 on the Alpine Halo 9.

    All of them.
    You could
Possibly get a pioneer or Kenwood with a maestro setup to do what you’re doing. But you’ll need to check into which radio does what.

The alpine displays a wide variety of functions I believe including tire pressure, not sure if you need to buy sensors for it or if our displays simply are cheap and don’t. I think both of the units display demographics on how the engine is performing, I don’t think either do the transmission though.

if all you want is management info stuff, get a obd2 reader and mount a tablet/smart phone on your dash.

T9 is probably your best bet, and fits your budget. It’s not perfect though... not sure if they ever fixed the CarPlay audio issue (may not be a problem for you anyways, since you mentioned Android); and if you’ve got musically sensitive ears, the audio is loud and clear and all, but does come across as compressed/loss of detail.

I had the T9, and later removed it in favor of a kenwood with wireless CarPlay. Much happier with it, sound quality way better, and it also shows TPMS; only downside is that it doesn’t look as good or look OEM like the T9 did.

I have been holding off on stereo as we have gone nowhere in a year.
Did you get it for $600? It is now $1k! I love all the features it adds. That is very helpful.
That is just a hard bullet to bite when ours is adequate for the wife & it is hers! Lol

I had the same radio in my Tacoma after my pioneer cooked itself. I agree sounded really really good
