I hope to downgrade my wheels to a size closer to the stock spec for a variety of reasons. I currently have 265 cooper AT and my little 4 cylinder is just so underpowered for them. I want to balance highway fuel consumption with off road ability and cost. The Good Year Wranglers Trail runners seem to fit that right.

If I get size 235/75R15 tires I will go with this tire (Wrangler radials). Its not an AT tire but it has aggressive enough tread and it usually cost under 90$ per tire!

If I go back to stock size (225/75R15 or R16) I am thinking about getting these (Goodyear wrangler trail runner AT). They are a bit more expensive at 131$ per tire but its well under what I would spend if I got KO2 (235$ per tire).

Anyone have experience with either of the tires I linked? Any other recommendations?

I suggest comparing weights across the options you're looking at. That weight savings can help.

    Consider P-rated tires.

Firestone Destination A/T's were among the lightest A/T's I could find and they're a damn good tire.

P-rated is for passenger vehicles? I am willing to pay extra for thicker sidewalls if it makes side wall punctures less likely. Firestone wilderness AT tires had a great reputation.

Wrangler Duratracs, center console organizer & trav all 1576 dog divider for the rear. Xpel wrap with ceramic coating. 20% tint on front windows. TRD intake. TRD oil cap Plus parts on shelf & a wish list.
That is a drastically different tread pattern. May I suggest the Goodyear Duratracs? They are all over this forum & currently in the "Limited vs Pro" or whatever it is named... thread also.
I love these tires on everything from a F-350 to our 4runner (5 vehicles between us & friends).
I will continue to buy them,
    Ryan.
Apparently it is tire talk night! Lol

If you're taking Cooper tires off and putting goodyears on, you are downgrading! Over the past 40+ years I've tried Goodyear tire in one way shape or form, they have always let me down. My friend runs a Goodyear tire shop(he can also get any tires he wants) and specifically told me to try Coopers, they have treated me well and performed well. Cooper must make a tire you need in the size you need. To each his/her own. Just my poor luck with Goodyear. Good luck! BTW- is that a 22RE engine in your beast?

Yes, that's what P-rated stands for. Plenty of people run them on our trucks with no problems.

If you're worried about sidewall punctures though, step it up to an LT (or C-rated) tire. I would still recommend comparing weight between LT tires to help re-gain some power. Even a few pounds per tire can make a difference with smaller motors.

Good Year Duratracs are an awesome tire! They came on my 2020 Off Road 4runner, I wasn't sure about them because they were not E rated 10 ply tires. They have held up great, I have beat them up in Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Ozark's and have been to Chicago twice, they do great in rain, snow, rocks and sand. I am from Texas so that's a lot of highway and off road miles. I also towed a camper to Utah They have impressed me so far. I may get the 285's once these wear down. Discount tire has Duratrac tires rated as "Best"

I'm on my third set of B.F. Goodrich A/T T/A 's. Great combination highway/off-road tire. Currently rated a 50,000 mile tire, but I get closer to 60,000 with them if rotated every 10,000 miles. And they "look" good. LOL I'll probably put a set on my soon to be 2021 TRD/ORP.
However, that Wrangler posted by the O/P looks like a good compromise - especially for daily highway and occasional off-road. Good price too.
