I installed a new head unit in my 2003 and ran the wires for the back up camera and everything went fine. But, when I went to close the tailgate it latched but the electric motor never kicked in to close it the rest or the way, and the dashboard light saying is a door is open stays on. Fuses are all good as are all the connectors. I've looked at any wiring diagrams I can find and can't find anything referring to the wires for that motor. Any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated!

Maybe a wire got pinched somewhere? I would inspect the wires leading to the latching mechanism. Also check to see if maybe a wire got pulled out of a connector.

This ever get solved? I have the same issue after doing some Kill Mat on the rear hatch -- I can't seem to find any loose connectors / wires or blown fuses...
