    Hey Yall!
I've had my '02 Sport Edition 4R since march, and I love the thing. I threw some 265/75/16 ATs on it back in June, so my passenger side tire now rubs against the frame when I turn all the way to the passenger side. I'm considering a 2-3" suspension lift to give be better ground clearance, better tire clearance, and... let's just admit it... the 3rd gens look sweet when they're lifted! I'd like to keep driveline angles as close to stock as possible, so I'll probably get the 1" diff drop from Toytec. I may go ahead and get extended steel brake lines, too... haven't looked into those yet, though. OK! time for the actual question!

This may sound kinda dumb, but what the heck should I do about shocks and coils? I feel like I'm drowning in options. I've considered the OME/Bilstien 5100 option, but I've heard it gives too stiff of a ride. I'd like to stick with the Bilstein 5100 shocks since they have a lifetime warranty. For coils, I've seen everything from Ironman, Eibach, Rough Country (ew), OME, and Toytec. I think at this point I'm leaning Bilstein/Eibach. Oh yeah... and I'm trying to keep it under $800. Any advice/reccomendatoins?

ALSO, my rig has 266K miles on it. Other than brake lines and CV angles, what are some 'side effects' that come when you lift a vehicle? What can I do to make my 4R last as long as possible with the new lift?

    Thanks!!

You get what you pay for.

If you don't normally off road, just go with the tried and true OME/Bilstein 5100's.

Any suspension meant for our vehicles will be aimed at off road performance; this means it will be valved to run 'stiffer'. That in itself translates to your tires being on the ground more often, which helps to keep traction as that's the most important thing in off roading. Also, someone saying a setup running 'stiff' could really mean jack shit to someone else. I know some people say my vehicles ride stiff whereas my co worker the other day drove it and he said it runs like a cloud or marshmellows; I ran/run 10 ply tires on the Tacoma and 4Runner.

Otherwise, I'd suggest King, ADS, Fox as they're in a different league.
