brake rotors

Need some advice on rotor upgrades for my 2000 4runner, rotors are warped.
Was looking at some slotted and drilled ones, not sure what brand to go with.

 

Hello Sir, here's a link that will explain how you can use Toyota Tundra brakes...complete bolt on using all Toyota parts if you want. You can do this for less than $400. Hey I just did the mod on a 1999 limited. Got the parts from 2005 tundra at a pick and pull yard. Had the rotors turned for 30bucks and put reybestos ceramic pads on. I used my bolts to mount the calipers because the tundra bolts were about an 1/8 " longer and would bind a little before bottoming out. Just follow the the mod in the posting. Got 70 bucks in the deal and the brakes are great. And if your fluid is needing changed this is a perfect time. After assembling everything I just started with the furthest wheel from the master cylinder and worked my way forward. Takes a while to gravity bleed the whole system but thats what I did. Used some vaccum line and a clear plastic catch bottle. When you see clear fluid collecting in the plastic bottle you good with that wheel. Don't let the master cylinder run dry or you'll have to start over. just buy a quart can of dot 2/3 and go for it.

 

Great job on your conversion. That awesome you were able to get all your parts at a pick-in-pull (wrecken/junkyard) for only $70. I wish we had one around here! Frik'in super awesome price for your parts...a lot better than $400. That's great you were able to use your old bolts to attach the Tundra's calipers. I haven't read anyone having that problem yet...have you? Quick thinking...and great job.

Since your swap...how's your 4Runner stopping now?? I'm sure way better. That was a smart heads up...changing out our 16-17 year old brake fluid...I'm sure just having fresh clean brake fluid in the system probably made a difference. Did you have any other problems except the caliper bolt issue?

No other problems except I cut a little too much of the shield when I did the mod and I did use my old bolts. Brakes are great. Just took it on the first long trip to ocracoke island N.C. and it was great on the beach.

Well I know its been awhile...reason I switched rotors was i had vibrations when braking.
I ended up putting EBC slotted and drilled rotors on.
Worked great...then after a 3000 mile trip through Montana this winter the vibrations came back.
Had a quick (free) inspection from Les Schwab and they said it was the rear brakes..
So a quick trip to O'reilly Auto Parts...i replaced...
-drums
-pads
-hardware
-wheel cylinders
So nowwww i still have vibrations and pretty sure i screwed up the bleed...

any advice? could it be wheel bearings? or ball joint?
im currently rocking 235,000 miles (purchased with 218,000)

Yes, only during braking and it seems to be coming from the front and you can feel it in the steering wheel a bit
