My 2019 T4R 4x4 has about 30k miles. Just had my 3rd oil change done about 2000 miles ago (full synthetic). Took out the dipstick today and the oil on the stick just reeks of gasoline.

Is this normal? If the answer is no, can you offer a suggestion?

In fact yes. I turned my Eco light back on a couple of days ago and have been driving very light footed just as a little experiment to see if I could get a little better mpg.

    Could that be a culprit?

Hard driving could potentially cause unused fuel to make its way into oil but definitely get it check. Keep driving light footed for another day or so. If its still present it could mean leak in head gasket, injector or cylinder

Bring it into the dealer. That is covered under warranty. If it were mine I'd do it right away. Make Toyota exchange with a new car.

Get your lawyer to threaten to sue Toyota motor company.

I drive like a 50 year old guy. Never race anywhere. But I don’t drive like a grandma. Pretty average I think.

    Averaging 50° right now.

LOL, no dealer will give you a new car just for that. But they should change the oil and then have you keep an eye on it at minimum.

I never thought about sniffing oil. I don't think I'll start either.

Hmmm.....I'm 50 and I always drive 10-15mph over the limit. I get 13-14mpg. I guess not all 50 year olds are created equal :burnrubber::curls:

That's similar to the behavior of a snarf or a snedger.

I just pulled out the dip stick to check oil and I could smell gas. That’s how I discovered it. Ha I wasn’t “sniffing” it!

Its ok we all sniff gas from time to time...my question is why your dip stick in the gas tank?
    Did it taste like coolant?

The reason I ask is that I do automotive quality testing and development for a living and in the winter we do tests for oil dilution. If it’s cold weather light loads and short trips fuel WILL start to pool up in the oil. Engines run rich when cold and that’s when ring gaps are the largest so fuel will wash past the rings. When the engine is hot (full operating temp, moderate load, highway speed) the fuel will evaporate out of the oil and vapor burned by the engine. 100% of engines will get fuel into the oil, driving patterns and conditions determine how long it will stay there. Monitor the level on you’re dipstick and see if the level is going UP over time.

It’s very unlikely something is wrong with the engine, if rings were shot and letting fuel flow past you’d be blowing smoke from burning oil as be well but I have seen injector failures/leaks cause fuel in the oil but unlikely without faults for running rich.

Def definitely a concert. you mentioned close enough which reminded me...no shit there i was, fist deep into a 94 civic i use to own when I was stupider, changing the oil (don't judge me). When... wouldn't you know it...this Lance criminal (good buddy of mine) waited for me to pull the plug to push the crawler in! Damn thing squirted all over me. Running around like an AH oil all up in my face! Looking back now.. good eff-ing times.
Hell it was funny $#!+ then too. Good beers then too
    Speaking of

Lots of short trips lately. Only short trips for weeks. Bet this is it. I’ll get on the hiway tomorrow and see if I can burn some off. Thanks.
