Thanks. I get the pro on the nineteenth. I will install the extinguisher immediately, and the rock slides are on the 24th. Pics every step of the way.

I see bumpers and sliders, but no skids. :boink:

You might want heavy rear springs with that bumper.

Have fun with your build! Subbed for progress pics!

Hey I would look into a different fog light if it isn't too late. I wouldn't use those Baja fogs on the street, please. Google "fog light pod thread tacoma" and enjoy all 200 or whatever pages of reading. TL;DR: Baja's suck, Diode Dynamic SS3's are where it's at (for actual fog lights).

Build looks like it will be fun. Enjoy! A little jealous over here.. ;):p

Stuck with Baja because hefty fabworks sold them with my bumpers and they are doing the install. I did change to SAE fogs light based on your recommended read and plea.

Since I'm still recovering from back surgery, I haven't been able to do some stuff yet, but I did install gzila designs dual tool clamps for my axe and shovel.20201210_115447.jpg 20201210_115506.jpg

Looks good, but I'd probably move it to the side of the rack. That shovel (and quick-fist) will really be fighting the wind in that configuration heh.

The sides are for reserved for maxtraxs and a possible awning. I figure anything on top causes wind drag, even the rack. My solution is driving slow as hell ( especially when towing the teardrop.)

Meh, wind resistance and drag are one thing, I just see that shovel as a sail in that configuration. I'd definitely move over if I saw that in front of me. To each his own I guess, but there are others on the road. Curious, what do you plan to place on top of the rack?

This is great to hear! Very effective. I use this same method. :)

And, it's nice that some people are reasonable about towing. I see idiots constantly who are going 80 and passing everyone while towing travel trailers and 5th wheels. It's amazing I don't see more of those things in the ditch.

I seen a few wrecked here in Arizona.

Towing and crappy gas mileage means slow is best.

Well, I guess if you keep it under 50...

Have you looked into placing the Maxxtrax, or waste behind your rear mounted spare? I often see that guys use a good special canvas type bag, that mounts on their spare, and that is where they put their trash when overlanding/camping.

I throw my trash on my Pro rack, as well, while camping.. but for me that's a basic kitchen trash bag literally tossed up there while I ease down to the camp site's bear-proof dumpster. I sure would hate for anything to leak on the roof of my 4Runner, heh. So far so good.

I stood on the rear bumper and I pulled pretty darned hard on them. Not a budge. Btw, I am also added a locking cable for theft and added mounting security. Even in the highly unlikely events of both monkey fists letting go, the axe and shovel won't hit you.

I also reversed the shovel so the rounded side faces the wind as an extra step (no longer a wind scoop).

Do you drive around on a daily basis with that installed? Are you concerned with theft?

What type of teardrop do you pull?
