Vexing Dashcam Parking Monitor

If you have a vexing dash cam, did you use their smart hardware kit in order to enable the parking monitor feature? Their kit has two cables, one to plug into a hot fuse and the other to plug into an IGN on fuse. I am guessing that allows the camera to know when the car is parked? Coz if it's always connected to a hot fuse, then it won't know when to enter parking mode?
