Hey man welcome to the forums. So as far as a lift kit it all depends on your price range and what you want to do with your rig. My current set up is bilstein shocks on old man emu springs with SPC upper control arms which advertise a 2.5” lift and total with my 33in tires I got about a 4-5”worth of lift. Id recommend these to anyone.

As for aftermarket front bumper it’s all a persona choice. You have brush guards, you could get the newer 2002 limited bumper, a tube front bumper or even plated. You should google 3rd gen 4Runner bumper and check out all the different options like Addicted Offroad, SRQ fabrications, ARB, CBI and others. Personally I just received my tube front bumper from Addicted offroad it’s the look that I liked the most, most common bumper choice I’ve seen is the plated front bumper.

I attached some pics of my lifted 4runner vs a stock 4runner and my tube front bumper. Hope this helps, and Goodluck modding.

That is not 4-5" of lift

As mentioned, tons of options but it all depends on use, budget, bolt on or DIY, etc.

I loved the quality of ARB's bumpers as I had one on my Tacoma.

Contemplating getting one for the 4Runner.

Hey Man! I have been looking into some front bumpers too, and here's what I've found:

Sadly, they're expensive. No matter which option you go with, know that you're going to spend a solid chunk of cash. I, myself, love the look and known quality of the ARB front bumper, but there is noooo way I could afford that thing. I'm still in high school, so spending close to $1K is totally out of question. The best option *in my humble opinion* is from a company called True North Fabrications. They have a weld-together plate bumper kit for $500. It looks good, it's made of 3/16" steel (meaning it'll take a beating), and it shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to weld together. Most weld-together kits from aftermarket companies will cost you about this same price, but this one looks the best to me.

Another thing you may want to consider is the long-term effects. Although it looks SWEET (and makes your rig more capable), adding close to 100lbs to the front of your vehicle will definitely hurt your fuel economy... and unless you plan on upgrading your front coil springs, the front end will sag too.

In all, front bumpers are super rad... but they do have a couple of downsides- they're expensive upfront, they cost your fuel in the long-term, and they make your front end sag. If you're willing to deal with these problems, I'd tell you to look into companies like 4xInnovations, True North Fabrications, Coastal Offroad, CBI, Savage Off-Road, RCI Metalworks, and so on...

I am, in no way, an expert... but I do like to research upgrades for my rig. Lemme know what you decide on! I hope this was helpful!

what are you talking about? The bilstein shock/OME lift adds 2.5” and the stock tires are 31” and I put 33” tires so that’s a total lift of 4.5”

A tire is a circle. 33"- 31"=2" but it would be an inch off the top of the tire and an inch off the bottom of the tire. A 35" tire would give you 2 more inches of ground clearance over stock tires. People don't generally include tire height with lift. That would be more of a ground clearance measurement.

You only gain half of that height when it comes to tires as you can only count the radius of the tire. So rather than 2", it's really only 1" and that's ground clearance.

If you truly had such a lift, you would require aftermarket control arms to achieve proper alignment not to mention, if you're 4x4, you would be replacing the boots on your axles every week. More often if you wheel at all.

I too have 2.5" of lift and sit on 33s and still only consider it 2.5" of lift max.

I'm riding on King 2.5 fronts, with 11 threads exposed, netting 2.5" of lift.

Pair that with OME906 springs in the rear that provide 2" of lift with no added weight, and King 2.5 rear shocks with reservoir.

Also riding on 255/85/16 (33") Cooper ST Maxx.

Looking at your wheel well gap and mine, we're damn near identical; actually I may have a larger gap because your trim ends up higher than mine since I have a Limited.
