I've owned Tacomas and Tundras and will most likely be shopping next spring for a 4runner.

It's so annoying that you can never get exactly what you want. Only certain colors on certain trims, packages to get what you want deleting other things you would like to have, etc.

    To the 4runner:

I LOVE them in Silver. I'd love an TRD ORP so I can have the softex but the only way to get Dual Zone Climate Control is either a Limited (don't want that trim for a variety of reasons) or a TRD PRO. I like the PRO, of course, but they're only in MGM, White, Black or Lunar Rock. Okay, lets say I get a pro by settling for a color that's not my first choice. But I hate the ridiculous rack on top.

The Venture package has dual climate control comes in grey metalic (kinda silvery?) and has a standard roof rack. Maybe an option?

I’ve never really understood dual climate control. Most cars I’ve driven over the last 20 years have had it and I can’t recall a single time that me and the other person have actually used it. And I’ve driven across the US at least 4 times.

All that said, if you have to have it, Lunar Rock looks GOOD.

I was not aware of that. I'll give it a look.

Nice thing about non-dual is that you can do it all without looking down at the cluster. With dual you have to constantly be looking down and figuring stuff out.

I have never found that. It you leave it in sync mode it operates likes a non dual zone. If your passenger, like my wife, is always cold they can control their own from their side.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
Yeah, this. My dad's Grand Cherokee has dual zone, and it's a pain in the ass. My 4Runner has normal controls, and I don't even have to look most of the time.

The only thing that I don't like is how they put max AC on the temperature dial all the way to the left. There is a notch that you should feel before you turn it to max, but I don't always feel it.

My last 4 cars, and both of my current Toyotas, are dual climate. Wait a few years, she is cold and you are not...also have cooled seats. A game changer down here when it's 115...
