I replaced the front brake pads on my 2002 4runner sr5 and it ran smoother for about an hour and a half straight, then, it seemed to lock up and my back axle started smoking when I pulled over and looked. I checked the fluid level in the rear axle and did add some, but that is not the problem. I limped it about 10 miles home but it sounded like the front brakes were grinding,or catching. I'm confused! Getting drunk then gonna tackle it in the am. Please give any insight.

Welcome to the forum, do you have a rear axle bearing leaking?

No, so far so good I was just checking to see what issues you were having if by chance it was the brakes. Want to know what to look for and possible problems.
