    Hi Everyone,

Need some advice/help on choosing the correct suspension kit for the Runner. I am currently looking into both of these kits and I am stuck on which one I should purchase. Anyone run the Radlfo’s?? I have heard nothing but great things about kings and have heard some great things about Radflo. Thanks for the help!! Just looking some advice from the veterans.

I think more bias to Kings as they are a well known brand.

I run Kings and enjoy them immensely. I had Fox 2.0’s previously...

I've heard great things about both. As @Dillusion mentioned, Kings are more popular and well known here. There was someone talking about Radflo on another thread and seemed very happy with them.

Sorry for the basically useless post. :D I really think you'll be happy either way.

My 4x4 shop recommended ELKA 2.5 with dual adjusters over Kings.
Waiting for it to be delivered to the shop.

Thanks guys, I am leaning Kings since they are a more reputable brand. I’m been doing lots of research and haven’t found any bad reviews on both. I appreciate everyone’s input!

kmeeg, please let me know how that Elka kit works for you!!

Kings if you want to be a Kool Kid.

Radflo if you want to be an underground Cool Kid. LOL

I could've went with any suspension, but after talking with Glenn of Radflo I chose his company. I like that he's a small family business, I like that he is local to me and always able to answer any question I may have. I've had them on for over a year and still dig em! I also like that they don't have a stock pile of them too, they're built to order.

I went with the 2.5 front and rear with external reservoirs and Total Choas UCA's

@Oldtoyotaguy is running ELKA and has a thread here discussing them. Basically, Canada's answer to King if I had to put it in a nutshell. If you're somewhere that corrosion is a concern, they might be worth a look.

Hahaha well dang!! Doublewide, you just made my decision a little bit harder hahahaha. Shoot, I love supporting small businesses, and have read a lot of great reviews about Glenn and the excellent customer service at Radflo. You have had them on your Runner for a year now?? No issues?? Have you hit the trails a lot? I am looking at the same exact Radflo kit you have? Any experience with Kings?

The explanation I got was "King only have 1 adjuster for mid speed vs with Elka you have dual adjusters to adjust for slow speeds and high speed driving.". Again I don't know, this was the answer I got when I wanted to upgrade from my OME kit to the best regardless the price tag. I don't like the wait time though, I'm waiting since August and still its not delivered to Toytec in Denver. Wonder if Canada is having strict Covid rules for this kind of delays.. :(

Thatbassguy, looked into Elka and even Fox, but think I narrowed it down to Kings or Radflo. It’s just difficult to narrow down the best options. But like you guys states, don’t think I could go wrong with any of these kits! Thanks for your input!

Not one issue. We "overland" I don't hit the trails like I'm in a trophy truck, but we do hit trails. We like to get out and away from people. LOL

    Here's my set up...

I've been curious about Radflo ever since seeing them on a long travel setup on a Tacoma last year. They seem to be top notch. They will surely be at the top of the list when I am read to upgrade again.

Nothing against either brand, but one has become more of an Instagram broverlander shiny bling bling and the other is not as known but is sought to actually be used for it’s designed purpose. Another useless post, but you really can’t go wrong with either.

I’m going to go with Radflo. I like what Doublewide has to say and I just read a few more excellent reviews on TacomaWorld. Some guy swears the his Radflo setup on his Tacoma performs better than his friend’s Tacoma’s who run Kings and Fox.

I should know this but.... any advantage going with the adjustable reservoir vs a straight up coil for 99% on road use?

I'm sorry I don't have much knowledge. Also since its not installed yet I don't know how that works. May be if you talk with Toytec they will give you the best solution for your needs and answer any questions.

On a highlevel what I understood was if you want a super comfy ride you adjust to a softer side and if you want to hit trails faster you dial to firm side. With dual adjustable ones like Elka or Fox you can adjust the slow speed comfort as well. And that 2.5 inch body and remote res is for more oil circulation so you can hit the trails for long hours non stop and it doesn't fade the quality of the ride. Again I have no clue until I feel the real thing.

I don't think Kings needs a slow speed adjuster because they are already tuned to handle nicely at slow speeds. Their standard stock replacement shocks come with a 550lb coil and then you can stiffen the valving up from there with the adjusters.

Elka comes with a 700lb spring stock, so they probably need a low speed adjuster to soften the valving as much as possible with that stiff of a coil on a stock 4Runner.

ADS makes a very high quality coilover as well. They should be in the conversation when talking about the best suspension for our trucks.
