Front end noise help!

I have this front end clunk/click every time I go over dip or bump. I’ve removed the sway bar including links and the skid plates but no luck. I’ve inspected the suspension and tried to shake things under the car but also no luck. It’s driving me nuts! Any ideas out there?

Check front Ujoints and CV joints, that's a start.

 

This may be way off, but on my 2008 I could hear a vibration of some kind which was louder on the drivers side than the passenger side. My son and I were trying to figure this out and he discovered that the anti rattle clips were missing from the brake pads on both sides. The pads were very loose and the noise would go away while braking slightly. I never heard the noise in your video but wanted to throw this out there in case yours are very loose. The clips fixed the vibration noise.

 

Take it to an alignment shop and let them put it on a lift. A good mechanic will tell you you need front end lower arms, sway bars. I had to replace a lot of the front end on my 2005 4runner (150,000 miles). Stuff wears out.

AM parts from Amazon are ok for this type of work. Your Lower Arm bushings are likely worn out.

PS I listened to it again. Just drive it and don't worry. May be related to brakes. Got to admit it sounds like a "clunk".


I get clunk sound if I go over a speed bump too fast!

 

Kind of sounds like the sound my sons car was making when we forgot to take the "S" hook off we used to hold the brake caliper during his last brake job!

 

Did you ever figure the noise out?

 

Lower control arm, sounds like you need new camber bolts.
