My '21 Venture arrived with the Yakima Mega Warrior rack , which I have extended to not look so "small" on the T4R roofline.

I'm planning to carry general overlanding/recovery gear for whatever inconveniences the Pacific NW weather and mild off-road adventures may provide.

I'm considering a) water-tight rifle cases for gear and hard mounts (for hi-lift/shovel/hatchet) mounted to the Mega Warrior or b) interior molle panels for the same gear.

Anyone share this decision and what did you end up doing? Pictures? Upside? Regrets?

    Thank you in advance!

I am thinking of running both, keep the smaller stuff in the truck and the larger stuff outside. Just my thoughts.

Good advice. Do you have a suggestion of “something that doesn’t look like a gun case” that remains low profile/under the side height of the Yakima?

I had my Hi-lift in a waterproof gun case for awhile. I'm trying to keep the weight as low as possible, so I switched to a soft case under my sleeping platform.

The gun case is available if anyone's interested.. $50, S/E Wisconsin area. Jack and accessories NOT included, case only.
