To those of you that haven't seen me before or know of my recent acquisitions, I have acquired two 2nd gen 4Runners for $600, neither of them running. One is a 91, the other is a 94. Despite being from the same generation, The grilles and headlights are different between the two- my understanding is that the 90 and 91 are the same, and the 92-95 are the same. I like the grille/headlights from the 91 better than that of the 94, and was wondering if they are interchangeable, and if they are, what sort of trimming/other work would be involved. I would think that they would swap, given that they are the same gen, but am none too sure. Has anyone done this?
Here is a front pic of the 91, (sorry the bumper blocks the view of the grille a bit)

And a pic of the 94.

I know in Tacomas they would generally be interchangeable between same gens. I'm interested to see if this is not necessarily the case with 4Runners...

Me too! Well, if I end up learning it on my own, actually trying to swap them, I'll definitely post up here on it just in case anyone else wants to do it.

it is quite easy to do, i helped my buddy do a 90 front on a 95. take off the 95, pull the headlight assemblies out of the 90 put them on the 95 and there you go.

Awesome, so everything just swaps out! Good to know. Always nice when there is no extra work involved.

Agreed. The tube bumper from the 91 will be put onto the 94, but eventually I will be building a plate bumper for it.

no cutting or drilling or nothing, just screws and clips, a warning, DO NOT BREAK THE CLIPS lol they are impossible to find and expensive when you do find them

Thank you! I hope to have the 94 on the road soon. The plan for the 91c right now is to make it a real mud rig. We are talking about dropping a 350 small block in it, axles, lift, mud tires, etc. :D

@ThatFenwickGuyFromTW send you a pm also really interested in the outcome of this. I know it's a super old thread but one of the few on the internet.
