    Is it just the PRO that doesn't fit 33's? Or is it ALL 4 runners? I really want a new 4 runner, but I need 33's at least.

    All 4runners are basically the same. The PRO is an off-road premium with Fox 2.0's and some other upgrades to the interior. You will need to modify the mud-flaps and possibly a body mount chop for 33's.

    I have 285/70/17's (32.9") on 17×9" wheels (-6 offset) with BMC and a small lift. I rub (just the mud-flaps) while turning in reverse. This can be fixed with an alignment by maxing out the caster, but I haven't done it yet.

    Big lift and big tires is a project on these 4runners.

    That's true. I was looking at pizza cutters for my Tacoma. I might actually go skinny if I do a dedicated set of tires for wheeling.

    No, wheel spacers make the rubbing worse. By pushing the tires out whether it be wheel spacer or negative offsets, you will begin to rub on the fender liner, fender flare, mudflap, or body mount.

    Rubbing on our trucks can mostly be boiled down to wheel specs and alignment.

    If you want to fit 285/70 with the least amount of issues, maintain the stock backspacing/offsets, stock wheel widths, and adjust the caster as high as you can get it. (somewhere north of 3.5 degrees). In this scenario, all you really need to do is push the front of your fender liner forward and trim a small corner of your fender flare. I have 285's on a 1.6" lift with stock OR wheels. No rubbing.

    Of course if you want negative offset wheels or wheel spacers you can absolutely get them to fit our trucks with 285's. Just requires more cutting.

    OK, I have narrowed it down to a TRD offroad. I need the rear locker, so no SR5. Now can someone tell me about the sliding cargo tray?
    It looks like it may be useful, but it looks like it takes up space. I have heard that a lot of people ditch them after getting them.

    I don't think the rear tray is needed. But I also don't carry heavy or big items. Its a stretch but my short ass can reach the back of the rear seats.

    You can always Fab up something down the road thats probably heavier duty and more useful to your personal needs than what toyota offers.

    Good point. Other than a tail gate table, I don't see any use for it.

    True, I'm a pretty decent wood worker, I could do something custom if need be. I looks like the second row does not lay flat. It would be nice to make it level.

    No lift in back, so it's level.
    P285/70/17 Firestone Destination A/T's
    Stock OR wheel
    Caster set to 3.6 degrees
    I did the fender liner mod with a small trim on the front fender flare.
    No rubbing.

    I weighed this question quite a bit. I was buying used so Pro and ORP were what I was looking at. I weighed the cost of the added parts to “PRO” and off-road, the cost of customizing an off-road my way and the cost of a Pro as-is in my search. I ended up with a Pro, but would have been happy either way.

    Thinking about this a lot with hindsight, Before Covid Pro was exactly what I needed and wanted. I was extremely busy and wanted something out the box ready. Now that I’m sitting on my ass a lot I wouldn’t mind swapping an entire suspension. It is what it is and hindsight is always 2020 but I love my Pro and am so glad to have the exact truck I wanted.

    After autocrossing, I've had my fill of mods. I went with the pro because the suspension mods are factory mods.
