5gen 4runner TRD Offroad 4 wheel drive system

2018 4runner TRD Offroad

TRD PRO 17” Rim 265/70r17 Ko2 tires

Hi community,

Does anyone know of a traction control or safety system on the TRD Offroad which would disengage 4 wheel drive when in 4 high? We had an interesting experience with our’s in 4 high on a muddy uphill obstacle. At one point the passenger side rear wheel spins freely but neither of the front wheels were spinning or pulling forward. Crawl control was not on. The green 4 high indicator was illuminated on the dash like during normal operation. I believe the transfer cash should be locked 50/50?
