I'm looking to upgrade tire/wheels while keeping the stock height of my limited.

Ran into this article about the 4runner blazing through Alaska. Love the look, unfortunately it doesn't mention the sizing. Hoping the community can help. Would like to have this tire / wheel setup with some sort of TRD pro wheel to keep it in the family.

275 sounds right cause the originals are 245 for the limited, however the I think the rims on this one are smaller than 20 inches cause the sidewall seems bigger than the originals and the originals are 60.

That’s a good point, the wheels look too small to be 18’s though. Maybe 19’s?

yeah you're right. 18-19 probably which means I'm out of the running to keep it OEM. I think TRD wheels are only 17 inches. Either way, I think someone better than me on photoshop could probably overlay from tirerack to get the right size haha

Could still be 20's. Sidewall on a 275/55/20 is still about 6". Just eyeballing it, the rim could be more than 3× the sidewall height.

Yeah. Those look like 20s to me.

I'd personally go with 17s to get some more sidewall on there. I always laugh when I see "rubber band" mud terrains. There's no room to air down if that needed to be done for any reason. Note: 17 is the minimum rim size on a 5th gen due to caliper clearance.

265/70/17 is the OEM size on my old 2014 TEP. You should be able to go up to a 285/70/17, but some trimming will likely be needed.

I'm convinced these are not 20's but rather 18s or 19s. Thanks all!

In the article it says he just swapped the original tires for some Toyo open country. My take away would be if 2014's came with 20 inch wheels and it doesn't say he swap the wheels just the tires, those are 20 inch wheels with Toyo open country tires.:hattip:

Right, and if you google 4runner with 20 inch offroad wheels, you can see how visually they look different.

Here's one with 20 and offroad tires. Doesn't look the same.

I stand corrected, it seems those are 20s

I went outside and measured 3 points on my car in CM.

Point 1 I'm using as a reference, cause it's the cleanest, straight line to measure on my screen.

    So 6CM (on my screen) / 95 (on the car) = X (ratioed number) / 55 (point 2)

X = 3.47CM, which is exactly what point 2 is on my screen. This means it's perfectly ratioed with my car and its 20 inch wheels

When using ratios against the photo on my screen, they all match up.

This is from the series Epic Drives, I'll see if I can find it on MotorTrend. I watched it and he did mention what size he went with. MTF after I get off work today.

    Woohoo!

20's are a little big for me, unless you're running 40's. But, the limited pulls them off.
