What is the biggest tire I can use on a 17 inch rim that won't rub on anything for a stock height 5th gen limited?

I can't speak to the limited part, but on my 2016 trail edition I ran 275/70/17 for a few days before my lift without any issues

Agree - though, depends on the wheel and tire brand. Few people had issues with TRD pro wheels when moving up 275. Any wheel with negative offset even 265s might rub some

I had ko2's and stock trail/trd off road wheels

Yeah those wheels are fine. TRD Pro has more negative offset and has caused issues

I have a limited and have 265/70/17 tires on 4mm offset wheels: no rubbing but it's very close.
I think the wheel offset is crucial to answer your question. Less positive offset greater the chance to rub.
Even with 15mm offset (orp, sr5 wheels) I would not go bigger than 265/70/17 on a limited if you want to avoid rubbing.

Thank you all for the replies. I dont even know the offset of the rims I have. I bought it second hand and they didn't know either. Tire currently on the rims are 265/70r17. And I'm gonna change the tires but I'm gonna put AT 265/70r17. Which is why I asked whats the biggest tire I can put without the rubbing.

Do you have a picture of the wheels ? Maybe they're known wheels.

Nice wheels. Can't help about the offset though. If you install these you will have a good idea how 265/70/17 tires fit. Don't forget to backup with steering wheel fully turned.
