    Hey everyone.

I bought my 2012 TE in 2018 at 55k. It now has just over 70k mileage wise.

I'm fairly sure it has Bilstein 5100's all around. Definitely in the back, because I saw them when the tires were off for new brakes, but I can never crane my neck to a spot to see if its matching in the front. dont think it matters too much, though.

on the carfax, it looks like rear and front shock absorbers were replaced May 2013 at 13,360 miles. I can assume that this is when the Bilsteins were installed, right?

How long should/do they last? Should I be looking at a replacement now or soon? It didnt look like the prior owner did any real or heavy off roading. the undercarriage was super clean, nothing was banged up. I have only taken it on the beach a couple times so its mostly city and highway driving. when i bought it, it had 285 all seasons on it and i did not like the ride at all. i switched to 265 KO2's and its been driving great, however, the suspension definitely feels kinda worked...

    thoughts/advice? Thanks!

Not knowing if the previous owner towed something, and about 60k on them i would probably consider getting new shocks.

yeah thats kind of where im at as well...its safe to assume it has stock springs on it, so i think ill look into shocks and springs.

If they aren't leaking, the rubber is good and there are no issues with ride quality, then I wouldn't worry about how many miles they have on them. Keep checking them at each oil change and replace when they need it.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
This is my first Toyota but I have owned a lot of vehicles over the years and have never replaced any springs on any of them. All 3 of my Jeeps were off roaded and one of them had a spacer lift but never replaced any springs. Shocks, yes although my '05 Grand Cherokee had the original fronts but I did replace the rears with Bilsteins. It had 148,000 miles on it when I traded it in. I think springs should last a very long time and unless you are replacing them to lift the vehicle I see no need to replace them unless maybe over 200,000 miles if need be.

It sounds like you’re trying to get outside justification to purchase new suspension. You obviously want to buy the new suspension, just go for it.
