Paint care and restoration

I washed and waxed my car today. I notice that under a lot of the window trim and between body panels the clear coat has peeled off. How would I prevent this paint oxidation spreading in the future? And is it possible to put a new clear coat on that looks good as new? I don't have the funds at this time in my life to spend on a total repaint.

Also a lot of paint on my roof rack and rails flaked off exposing the metal. Am I correct in assuming that stock 3rd gen roof racks are made from aluminum?

The roof rack was black from factory, any recommendations on how I could repaint it and what I should use?

 

several solutions...you can purchase cleaning and waxing products to help with the condition of the paint, etc...but eventually, you'll probably have to get it re painted, etc....now you can go cheep...3 or 4 hundred..or spend several grand, on a pristine paint job..best thing to consider which way to go paint wise..within your allotted budget
